Why Math’s? Mathematics lays the foundation for every student to become part of a future generation who has the ability to interpret, analyze and think critically and through that revolutionize the way the world is working.

Through Mathematics, students will be able to suggest innovative solutions and solve complex problems by using both their critical thinking skills and their ability to analyze. In the process, students develop time management skills as well as communication skills.

Combined with Science, Mathematics is the doorway to understand the complex physical world we live in. Mathematics prepares our students for a future where data analysis, the development of new technology, and AI technology are part of everyday life.

Science is developing the understanding between itself, technology and society, and it forms part of the very important Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) grouped discipline, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

With this course, students will learn to think logically and acquire practical skills in addition to information and comprehension, which is essential for interpreting the world around us.

Information gained from Science can be used to grasp new ideas, make educated choices and pursue new passions.

Important Skills for the future and why this subject is important:

The program will focus on Entrepreneurial Thinking and Fundamentals in the first year. It will cover topics such as Growth Mindset, Entrepreneurial Mindset, Design Thinking and Customer-Centric Mindset. Entrepreneurship will also assist students with the vision and purpose of their business, branding and design.

The second year will focus on equipping students with the skills to build their business models and preparing them to launch their business projects, which they will run in the third year of the program.

French is a language spoken by a large population of the world. In this era of globalization, children need to learn new languages, and through that new cultures and ways of interacting with other people. This will prepare them for the interconnected world.

Communication, people skills, tolerance, inclusivity, and diversity are extremely important skills for individuals intending to travel to different countries or work in fields dealing with international issues.

This is the best subject to pick for building and molding a child for the modern world. This French course walks through all the necessary skills in developing the French linguistic tool kit and prepares students for IGCSE French.

Knowing Spanish will open doors for you around the world. As you study the language, you will come to appreciate the way of life, customs, values, and cultures of people from many different areas of the world.

Learning Spanish can be fun and will bring you a sense of accomplishment, along with a source of enrichment for the rest of your life.

Additionally, it will propel you to a higher level of education and competitiveness in your field of work. Companies all around the world are looking for people who know different languages. Knowing Spanish makes you a major asset and puts you on the shortlist for finding a job in the future.

In today’s world, knowing one language just doesn’t cut it any more. Students are expected to be able to adapt to the ever-changing world, and language is one of those factors. By speaking German, you are opening doors to Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg. German is also an official language in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

At this level, students are learning the basics of the language. Fundamental skills relating to reading, writing, and speaking are important as students work their way through the course.

The course strives to create autonomous students, meaning their skills are applicable not only in the classroom, but outside as well. With all this being said, fun whilst learning is at the core of the course!

The Stage 7 class is doing Global Skills and follows the Oxford Curriculum. There are some additional elements of the Cambridge Curriculum lesson material embedded in the course. All assessments are however, based on the Oxford Curriculum.

The students don’t write exams, but they have 1 end term assignment to do. They also have 4 smaller formal assements to complete per term. Global Perspectives Stage 7 is about teaching students how to do professional academic research using the IDEAS GO Method as a baseline. Investigate, Define, Evaluate, Assess, Share, and Go Further.

Students will gain important Computing skills in computer programming, word processing, digital graphics, databases, spreadsheets, email, presentations, video/animation, the internet, and web creation, among other applications.

It will also open up their minds to broader topics like internet security and keeping their target audience in mind when completing their work.

This course serves as an introduction to IGCSE modules like computer sciences, whilst also providing basic understanding of MS software and Google Accounts.

Students in Computing enjoy the opportunity to explore the role of technology in everyday life, and also encourage them to find their passions in preparation for their IGCSE levels.

Important Skills for the future and why this subject is important: Afrikaans is spoken as a first language by more than 6.9 million people and as a second language by about 10.3 million people in South Africa and many more around the world. It is of upmost importance to be able to communicate effectively in a first additional language such as Afrikaans in order to succeed in future career endeavors.

In Afrikaans, we also learn critical thinking skills. We learn how to ask questions about content, how to answer these questions and then how to apply this information in our everyday lives. In the workplace, critical thinking skills are essential for success, as it will aid learners in: decision-making, being able to ask questions and analyzing information.

When you are able to understand and express yourself effectively in a first additional language like Afrikaans, you will unlock endless possibilities.

Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are the four domains through which students gain skills and comprehension.

The goals and objectives of the stage 4-9 Afrikaans course are to enable students to: Become self-assured communicators who can successfully express themselves with confidence* Be able to understand and apply various Afrikaans concepts in their everyday lives Express themselves effectively in Afrikaans via spoken and written language The course will include various activities relating to reading, writing, speaking and listening activities Write comprehensive notes and summaries about lessons learned- a vital skill which is necessary to engage in further studies.
